When you come to St. Simon to do Yard Duty, please make sure to sign in by
the office and then go to the room located between the girls restroom
and Room 8 to sign in for Yard Duty.
If you have signed up for a date and need to make a change, please contact Mr. Clossick at sclossick@stsimon.org. If you are unable to make yard duty and this is within 24 hours of your yard duty time please contact Mr. Clossick and other parents who are signed up during the week or month to see if they can switch yard duty times.
Lunch Rules
- Students will follow the directions of all adults on duty.
- Students will stay seated for their 20 minute lunch period.
- Students will not sit or walk on table tops, nor walk on benches.
- Students will ask permission to go to the restroom. They will go with a partner.
- Students will wait to be dismissed from tables after the bell rings.
- In order to be dismissed, all food will be put away and all trash picked up.
- Students in grades 1-6 will sit with students in their own grade.
- 7th and 8th grade students may sit with each other.
- Students will eat at tables only.
- Students will stay in assigned areas.
- No student may be in the hallway.
- Students will need a pass to go to the Health Office. Access to
the Health Office is through the main entrance of the school.
- Grades 1-4 will each lunch between 12:10 and 12:30.
- Grades 5-8 will eat lunch between 12:30 and 12:50.
Playtime
- Students will follow the directions of all adults on duty.
- Students must be dismissed for recess.
- Students will walk through the breezeway.
- All students will pick up play equipment and place it on the rack.
- The class who has turf picks up that area or loses the turf their next time.
- Lower grades rotate picking up the equipment on the blacktop.
- Upper grades rotate bringing in the carts and tether balls.
- Only school-provided equipment from the turf tote is allowed on the turf.
- Only school-provided equipment is allowed on the black top.
- Kicking at any time is not allowed, unless playing soccer or kickball on the turf.
- Assigned turf grades may play on the blacktop too. They cannot go back and forth between the blacktop and turf.
- No eating is allowed during playtime.
- Students will stay in assigned areas.
- Grade 1-4 recess takes place from 12:30-12:50.
- Grade 5-8 recess takes place from 12:10-12:30.
- All play stops when the bell rings.
When the school bell rings, all students must freeze until the whistle
has been blown and then they can be dismissed to their lunches, recess,
or back to their classrooms.
Grade 4 will roll out trash cans.
Grade 5 will roll trash cans to upper level and return trash cans at the end of lunch.
