Where does the money go?
The Walk-a-Thon is organized by the St. Simon School parents to generate funds for the Parent Advisory Group (PAG) Teacher Fund. The Teacher Fund was initiated in 1998 to help recruit and retain well-qualified and dedicated teachers. The Teacher Fund encourages teachers to enhance their classroom performance by reimbursing them (currently at $1800 annually for full-time teachers) for continuing education, credential fees, supplementary materials, student incentives and productivity tools such as software. St. Simon is one of a handful of diocesan schools with such a reimbursement fund. It differentiates our school and enables academic excellence. Teachers deeply appreciate the Fund. In turn, St. Simon students directly benefit from a more dynamic and stimulating learning environment.
How do we do this?
To accomplish this successful event, it takes the dedication of our St. Simon students, faculty, staff, parents and community to collect sponsors, walk laps and volunteer their time. This event would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors, underwriters, and donors. We can’t thank our community enough for their efforts and commitment to such a wonderful cause. We look forward to this fun family event and will be getting ready soon for next year’s.
Thank you for your continued support!
