PARISH FALL BBQ
"TGIF" style: Friday,Sept. 18th from 5 to 8pm:What a great way to kick off the new St. Simon School year and the Preschool of Religion, CCM, Edge and Life Teen programs than with a Parish Wide Fall BBQ?   All are welcome!
If everyone gives a little of their time, working together to enjoy an evening of music, good food and drinks then all of the planning and work is not on ONE person, but on ONE community - that's us! Magazine Drive Help Needed

Gentle Reminders
Please make sure to back out of the parking spaces in the parking area between the school, parish center, and church. Please do not drive over/through the middle yellow crosswalk area. The crosswalk is there for the students and parents to walk safely to their automobiles. Thank you for your consideration and support.

Extended Care
Extended Care will be available on the following dates that school is not in session: September 4,
October 2, and March 11. Sign ups for these dates are available at Extended Care. Space is limited and available on a first come first serve basis. Cost per hour is $7. If you have questions please contact Rema Batmani, Extended Care Director at rbatmani@stsimon.org or 650-967-3293.

Back To School Night
Back To School Night for grades 5-8 is Wednesday, September 2 at 6:45.
Back To School Night for grades K-4 is Thursday, September 3 at 6:45.

Picture Day
Picture Day for grades 5-8 is Wednesday, September 2.
Picture Day for grades K-4 is Thursday, September 3.
Both of these days are plaid days for the classes having their pictures taken on that day.

Band Sign Up Night
Band Sign Up Night will take place on Wednesday, September 16. This is a great time to come and
see all the band instruments and talk to Mr. Hirotsuka about the Band Program. Please contact Mr. H. if you have any questions at <trmptplyr@aol.com>.

PAG News
The St. Simon PAG will hold their first meeting of the year this Wednesday, September 9th, at 7pm. The meeting will be held in the school library.

School Arrival Time
Students are able to come on campus starting at 7:30am. If you need to drop your child(ren) off before 7:30am please drop them off at the Extended Care. School is staffed starting at 7:30 and for the student’s safety we ask that you do not drop off children before this time.

Safety Concerns
Please be mindful of your child’s safety when crossing the street and/or parking lot. The crosswalks should be used when crossing. Please make sure to use the crosswalks when crossing Grant Road.
Also, do not cross between cars or behind cars when cars are backing up. It is important that we model good crossing skills so all of the children stay healthy and safe.

Eucharistic Ministry Training
We will be offering Eucharistic Ministry training on Friday, September. 18th for anyone interested in joining this ministry. To be a Eucharistic Minister you must be a fully initiated Catholic throught the sacraments of Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation. Once trained you will be able to serve at Wednesday school Masses and Sunday Masses. If you are interested in serving our community as a Eucharistic Minister and would like to attend the training, please contact Joan Mibach, jmibach@stsimon.org, or call 650-967-8311, ext. 16.

Cub Scouts
It's Cub Scout time!   Please join us for the Cub Scout Pack Meeting on Thursday, Sept 10th at 7pm in the school parking lot - we will be building and racing GO KARTS!!!! Please read attached Pack meeting flyer for details.

SCRIP AT Back To School Night
Do you shop at Safeway, Andronico's, PW Super or Lucky's for groceries? Are you a Starbucks fan, iTunes user, or Gap shopper? As part of our School & Parish Fundraising efforts, we'll have Scrip available for families at Back to School Night. Two types of Scrip will be available: paper (or gift card) Scrip, and online enrollment through eScrip for grocery and credit card purchases. Both programs return a percentage of the Scrip value back to the School and Parish for important programs that directly benefit Saint Simon.
