Weekly Gift Card/Scrip ordering
The holidays will quickly be approaching! Looking for gift cards for
friends, family, babysitters, etc? Order Gift Cards through the weekly
Scrip program, or purchase them this Friday December 11th after school
outside the gym (inside if there is rain).
Sign up for eScrip! eScrip is a way to donate to Saint Simon when you
make a purchase from participating vendors using your credit, debit,
merchant or grocery card. Our goal is 100% participation in the
Electronic Scrip (eScrip) program. Do your regular shopping, and
eScrip will forward a contribution back to Saint Simon at no cost to
you! To enroll, go to the eScrip website at http://www.escrip.com
<http://www.escrip.com/> , and use Saint Simon's id #137106957.
Have questions about the eScrip program? View the eScrip FAQ page or

Financial Aid
If you are currently receiving Financial Aid or are interested in
receiving Financial Aid for the 2010-11 school year, please contact Mr.
Clossick directly to obtain a Financial Aid Application. All families
interested in receiving Financial Aid next year, even if you already
are receiving Financial Aid, must submit a new Financial Aid
Application for the 2010-11 year.
The deadline for PSAS to receive Financial Aid Packets is February 1, 2010.
Fr. Murray T-shirt Orders
This is the last chance to order Fr. Murray t-shirts as orders are due
by Wed. December 16th. Shirts are only available through this order
process, they will not be sold at the tournament. Don't miss out on
this year's cool new design! The t-shirts are approved for the St.
Simon P.E. uniform. If you have any questions regarding the t-shirts,
please feel free to contact Robbyn Denzel at robbynd@comcast.net.
Please print and return the attached form to your child's homeroom (it
is o.k. to order multiple shirts for siblings with one form and one
check).
St. Simon Now Accepting Applications
St. Simon is now accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year.
If you you are interested in enrolling, the deadline for enrollment is
February 16, 2010. After this time, we will begin the screening
process and begin accepting applications from those outside our current
St. Simon population. We will be holding another Open House for
current and prospective families on Sunday, January 31st from 10:0am -
1:00pm, which is the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. Please
invite any interested friends or family members to this event!
Applications can be found on our website or in the Admissions office.
If you have any questions, please contact Sally Prout in admissions at
sprout@stsimon.org.
Christmas Program –Camel Lot
The annual St. Simon Christmas Program will be held Thursday, December
17. The 1:15 p.m. show is for friends, siblings, grandparents and
other visitors. Because it is difficult for some people to climb the
stairs, there will be some chairs available on the floor. The 7:00
p.m. show is for parents only. We hope that you will abide by this
request so that all of our parents will have seats and will be able to
see. The Parish Center doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Please do not
save seats.
BIKE DRIVE FOR REFUGEES
St. Simon Outreach and Social Justice Council is sponsoring an upcoming
bicycle collection to benefit refugees, through Catholic Charities, who
have resettled in San Jose. Many refugees are in need of transportation
to and from work and would greatly appreciate having a bicycle so they
can get around. The bicycle drive will be held at St. Simon January
29th and 30th, 2010. Please donate bicycles, especially adult size,
that have been gently used. New bicycles are also welcome and greatly
appreciated! Helmets and locks will also be collected. So PLEASE, if
you plan on discarding a bicycle, donate instead to the bicycle drive
for refugees this coming January! Loving our neighbor has global
dimensions in a shrinking world. Right here in our own backyard we have
brothers and sisters displaced by the ravages of civil wars and
political unrest. Here is an opportunity to touch their lives.
St. Simon Teacher Fund
As 2009 draws to a close and you are mulling over possible year-end tax
deductible donations, please consider putting the St. Simon PAG Teacher
Fund at the top of your list. The Teacher Fund reimbursement for
teachers is $1800 and it helps reduce the financial burden for new
teachers getting credentialed, and to better cover the increases in
classroom curriculum material costs, etc. As such, we could use your
donation (of any amount) to help us offset this year's expenses. We
rely not just on the Walk-a-thon, but on direct donations year-round.
Your gift in not only tax-deductible but will also make a direct
impact in continuing the academic excellence here at St. Simon School.
The teachers and PAG TF committee thank you for your consideration.
Any questions, please contact agilmoreallen@yahoo.com.
