Welcome to St. Simon!
We welcome back our returning families, and we warmly welcome all of our new students to St. Simon School in Grades K-8.  We look forward to working again with the returning families, and getting to know the new families and making them part of our St. Simon Parish School Community.  This will be an exciting year for everyone!

School Theme: Joyful Disciples For Justice
Our theme for this school year is Joyful Disciples For Justice.  Our Journey to Justice, which we began three years ago,  will continue with our service-learning program.  We will focus in a special way on making each member of our community feel a part of our St. Simon family, by encouraging play, communication, and interaction with all members.  As we start this school year, let us strive to create an atmosphere “where all can dwell, and all can safely live” and welcome all in the St. Simon Parish community to join us while living as Joyful Disciples For Justice.

Welcome New Staff Members
More than thirty interviews, one hundred resumes, reference checks, and lots of research filled the end of last school year.  As a result, we are happy to welcome our new teachers and staff members to St. Simon Parish School.  Each staff member is well-qualified, and each one came with the highest personal, professional, and academic recommendations.

New Vice Principal:
Mr. Steve Rummell

New Teachers:
Mr. David McCormick – 8th Grade, Room 16
Dr. Abigail Joseph– Computer Technology Teacher

Magazine Drive
Our magazine drive began with a kick off today.  Your child will be bringing home information about renewals, new subscriptions, turn-in days, prizes, and more!  The Magazine Drive is our major fund-raiser for the year, and the proceeds are applied to the costs of textbooks.  Participation is optional, but we strongly encourage and greatly appreciate your involvement.    Kudos go to Krystal Bellinger Martinelli, our Magazine Drive Chair, for the outstanding job of organizing the drive, along with their host of volunteers.

Magazine Drive Help Needed
If you are available to help with the Magazine Drive please contact Krystal Bellinger Martinelli krystal@ix.netcom.com .
Many opportunities to help are available.  Thank you for taking the opportunity to use your gifts to help our school.

Gentle Reminders
Please make sure to back out of the parking spaces in the parking area between the school, parish center, and church.  Please do not drive over/through the middle yellow crosswalk area.  The crosswalk is there for the students and parents to walk safely to their automobiles.  Thank you for your consideration and support.

Hot Lunch Reminder!
Kid Chow is our lunch provider this year.  Starting on Monday, August 31, Kid Chow will be available to all students. All lunch payments are processed online with Kid Chow.  Please go to Kidchow.com for more details

Please Consider Volunteering!
We are proud of the fact that we have not had to require “Mandatory Volunteer Hours” at St. Simon Parish School.  However,  we are in critical need of volunteers to help with Lunch Duty.  What better way to work with the children of St. Simon and also help out the school by volunteering your time?  We appreciate your commitment and support.
