State of the School
Please mark your calendar for the State of the School presentation on Thursday, March 25th at 7:00 p.m. in the church. Items to be discussed include the lunch program, cash calendar and the golf tournament. Drinks and appetizers will be served after the meeting in Spooncer Hall.
Birthday Treats and Other Celebrations Policy
Each student will be honored on his/her birthday with a special blessing at morning assembly. Those whose birthdays fall on holidays or during vacation periods will likewise be acknowledged. In grades other than Kindergarten, PLEASE DO NOT send treats for your child to share on his/her birthday or for any other celebration; this includes a prohibition on delivering special treats during the school day. Singing telegrams, deliveries of flowers, balloons, and the like are not permitted. To safeguard children’s feelings, and due to the legal ramifications, no gifts and/or social invitations may be distributed at school.
New Lunch Guidelines
Lunch from outside vendors is highly discouraged. This includes fast food, deli items, specialty drinks and any other specialty items. It is not fair to the other students.
Safety Reminder
SPEED LIMIT should be no more than 10mph in the parking lot.
Vacation Bible School 2010 is a GO!

We will also be looking for incoming 7th grader and up to be camp counselors...and lots of adult volunteers to make the event a success! Thanks to the many adults who have said they will help! We appreciate your support! Sign-up/registration forms will be available soon. Stay tuned. If you have any questions or for more information, please contact Rose Lue at roselue@gmail.com, 408-807-5268 or Tricia Jennings at tricia@teamjennings.net, 650-919-4373.

Students met with their school families this afternoon to celebrate Read Across America Day. Students made their way to the gym and enjoyed time spent with their families and shared their LOVE of reading.
JOIN WALKATHON COMMITTEE
We are looking for a few more hardy souls to help with key areas of the St. Simon Parish School Surf-the-Turf Walkathon on April 25th... some of our chair positions are perfect for working parents (minimal preparation/ primarily on the day of the event). Meet other fun committee chairs and learn more about putting on one of the key fundraisers for the St. Simon PAG Teacher Fund. Join us for our next meeting at 7:50-8:30 a.m. Wednesday March 17th in the Simon Room. See you there! If you can't join us but want to get involved, please email us at cathy@dxm.com <mailto:cathy@dxm.com> or celine_schmidek@yahoo.com
CONSIDER UNDERWRITING THE WALKATHON
To offset the cost of the Walkathon and maximize the proceeds for the Teacher Fund, we are looking for underwriters to help cover the cost of the DJ (using the same great DJ from the parish bbq last September) as well as raffle prizes and other expenses. If you are able to or can have your business sponsor this great event, please contact Chairs Celine Schmidek or Cathy Swearingen at the emails above. Thank you for your support!
It’s Happening Now
Spring registration for after school activities is available now. Many new programs have been added but with limited space. So go on line, complete the registration, and send in a check to Marilyn Willey. Some classes start soon so act fast!
