Art Classes: “Draw Paint and Sculpt” FULL
Come and explore your creative
side. We’ll learn about some well known, famous artists from
the past and present as we try out various mediums. Children will
have an opportunity to draw, paint and work three dimensionally in class.
The class will allow students to develop their art-making skills and
explore personal areas of creative interest.
All supplies will be provided
in class. Students are encouraged to bring an art smock to protect
their uniform. Please bring your smock on the first day of class
in a zip lock bag labeled with your name.

Band
St. Simon band is fun and
educational experience for all 4th through 8th
grade students. In band, students learn the fundamentals of the
instrument they choose and will also learn how to play in an ensemble
setting. Instruments offered: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone,
and Drums. Students receive a grade on their report cards and may qualify for a block "S." For more information, see the Band page in Year-Round Activities.

Create our Own 2D Games from Scratch programming:The Miller Institute for Learning
with Technology Canceled
Students will learn to use MIT’s “Scratch” programming environment to create their own 2D “worlds,” including computer games and simulations. In the process, they will learn key concepts in computer science, mathematics and science (partly depending on the examples chosen by the students). Above all, students will learn powerful problem-solving and debugging skills that can be applied in a wide range of contexts – far beyond computer game development.

Engineering FUNdamentals with LEGO Canceled
Have your child become a Play-Well Engineer! Students take on real-life engineering challenges that explore concepts in physics, architecture, mechanical and structural engineering with over 100,000 pieces of LEGO material. From racecars to Battletracks, this is a hands-on and minds-on camp suitable for LEGO novices to "maniacs." Designed by engineers, the curriculum challenges both new and returning students to reach the next level of engineering comprehension, all while having fun.

Mad Science: Earth, Wind, Inspire
Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow will prevent us from having a great time in this session of
Mad Science.We'll learn all about weather as we explore meteorology and clouds. Take a
voyage to the center of the earth as we investigate how our planet formed and the forces
that keep changing things. Discovered how science is used to solve crimes, and take home
your own I.D. kit. Learn all about pulleys, levers and catapults in Mad Science Machines
and make your own Rocket Racer. Discover first-hand how movie special effects are created.
Turn your kitchen into a virtual lab as you learn about the chemical reactions that take place there.
Explore the science behind your favorite toy, as well as some that you may not have played with,
but your parents probably did. You won't want to miss a minute of this exciting series.

Satisfy all your artistic needs with core classes in voice, acting, and dance, and expand your horizons with a fantastic theater workshop. A fun and demanding curriculum is a perfect fit for those seeking to build upon and improve their musical theater talent, as well for those just getting started. St Simon core classes in voice, acting, and dancing help students gain confidence and skills in all three disciplines. The course ends with a theatrical performance enjoyed by friends and family.
