Our
theme this year is “Hope and Joy in Christ.” As beings created in
God’s image, we are indeed the Body of Christ. What wonderful things
can be accomplished by saying “Yes” to God’s call to serve…to be Christ
for others! Together as Christ’s Body we can make a positive difference
in our families, community, and the world. Together as Christ’s Body we
can build up the Kingdom of God. As the St. Simon Parish School family,
we say “Yes” to God’s call to serve knowing that we are indeed God’s
hands and feet, eyes and ears, loving and compassionate heart.
I look forward this year to our partnership with God and with each
other as we undertake the sacred mission of educating our children in the knowledge that God will bless our endeavors with all the
gifts of the Holy Spirit. As we go about each day we can reflect on the
words of Mother Teresa, "Joy is prayer - Joy is strength - Joy is love
- Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls."
