Happy Sunday Room 6!
We had a really good first week! The kids took in so much information about school, recess and the classroom. We worked on graphing, writing, class prayers, and K math review. They worked on being a good friend and table mate as well as worked holding their own by correcting and being responsible for their homework, making good choices and completing in class work. Phew!
This week we will get started in our text books. Homework will again be fairly easy and light because we are still adjusting to our new schedule. There will be no homework on Wednesday. Thank you for helping your child by not correcting their work for them.
Wednesday is our Back to School Night. I highly encourage all of you to come. This is a night of informational about First Grade and many of the opportunities our students will be participating. Might I add, this is a night about our class as a whole. This is not a time for us to discuss individually about your child. It is however a time for you to come and ask questions, if you have them.
Tomorrow starts our new lunch program. I have created cards with each student with name and lunch #. Please do not worry about sending your child with their lunch ID#. I will go through lunch with them the first couple of days and then I will have one of the lunch parents take over.
Our students will enjoy the turf (grass area) on Wednesday's at lunch. It is important that we have 3 parents attend turf with the kids. I'll talk about this on Wed. night.
