In 5th grade the focus of religious eduction is on the sacraments of the Church and living a sacramental life. We will explore the sacraments as they relate to God and the Trinity, Jesus and the mystery of the Incarnation, the Church and serving others, and morality. Through the sacraments we are able to live like Jesus and make good choices for God and others.
In Family Life we focus on the 5th graders ability to take a more responsible role within family relationships. They know the rules, and they know when they have fallen short of them! They can understand your point of view although they will not be willing to admit it to you. They are able to take more responsibility for younger siblings, friends, and neighbors. Family Life is designed to help them think more critically about situations and decisions they make. By doing so, the goal is to make them more responsible.
