Join us for the Walk-a-Thon this Sunday 5/17!
We realize May can be a very busy month, especially with weekends full of sports activities and other commitments. But, we hope you can make it out for even an hour (drop by at anytime 12-3 pm at St. Francis HS track) to say hi to good friends, classmates and teachers, and show your support for our school. Surf the Turf Walk-a-Thon has become an annual school spirit tradition that is also a fun and relaxing family day. This week the excitement builds with fun activities for School Spirit Week every day, culminating with Sunday's Walk-a-Thon. And while your kids walk, please volunteer! We especially need help during the 2-3pm time slot. Please check out the jobs and sign up at
http://school.stsimon.org/walkathon-volunteers. If you can't make it on Sunday, your child can still be considered a participant with a $40 contribution! Hope to see you there!
Can’t Attend the Walk-a-Thon? You can still enter the raffle to win!
We have awesome raffle prizes in store for several lucky winners. So, even if you can't attend the Walk-a-Thon you can enter the raffle and show your support for the St. Simon PAG Teacher Fund. (See attached flyer for details and order form).

Host Family Program
We are looking for St. Simon School families who are interested in welcoming a new family to our school community next school year. As a host family, your role would be to greet a new classmate and his/her family and provide support for them as they enter St. Simon School. You would need to attend New Family Night on Thursday, August 20th and invite them to join you for one simple activity over the summer.
Families with incoming Kindergarten students are invited to a picnic with the entire class on Saturday, August 22, from 10:00 AM to 12 noon at Grant Park. This is a fun way for parents and children to meet before school begins. If you have an incoming Kindergarten student and would like to help with the picnic, please let us know.
If you are interested in being a Host Family or helping with Kindergarten Welcome Picnic, please contact Robbyn Denzel at (650) 691-1090 or robbynd@comcast.net <mailto:lindadeppmeier@yahoo.com> by Friday June 5, 2009.
