Join the Fun! Volunteer Sign-ups for the Walk-a-thon Due This Friday, May 1st!
Our annual Surf-the-Turf Walk-a-thon needs an army of volunteers. Please consider volunteering for an hour or more while your kids walk. Access our online volunteer sign-up at: http://school.stsimon.org/walkathon-volunteers or the attached sign up form. Many time slots at virtually all the stations still open. Check out the schedule and sign up with a friend. Thank you for your support!
Student Signatures in Space
St. Simon School is one of 500 hundred schools chosen from across the country to participate in the NASA/Lockheed Martin Student Signatures in Space! This event will take place on Weds. May 6th during recess and lunch. Students will be allowed to sign a giant poster that the NASA Space Shuttle will take with them on their next mission scheduled for November! Our student signatures will be in space! NASA will return the poster along with a plaque and photo of the flight team holding out poster on the mission. How exciting for your school! Come November we will be tracking the flight very carefully for sure!!!!!
Carnival Day
Student Council held a Carnival Day on the turf on Weds. April 29th. It was a huge success! There were many fun activities to participate in like bobbing for pretzels, basket ball toss, fishing in the duck pond, musical chairs, ring toss, wet sponge toss, milk bottle throw, and more. Popcorn and popcicles were for sale too.
The winners from the raffle prizes were Ryan Doyle, Rm 10, Kieran Bradford, Rm 12, and Claire O'Sullivan, Kinder Rm A. Many parents came out to support the event as well----Thank You!
St. Simon Book Fair
Our annual Spring Scholastic Book Fair, “Lights! Camera! Book Fair!” is coming soon! All are invited to shop the Book Fair in the St. Simon School Library on Sunday, May 3rd from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon and from Monday, May 4th through Thursday, May 7th from 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Parents, students, and teachers will find plenty to interest them. As always, all profits from the Book Fair benefit our school library.
PAG Is Looking For Board Members
If you are looking for a great way to become more involved at St. Simon, the PAG is the answer. We are looking for PAG Board Members for the 2009-2010 school year.
The Pastor, School Administrator, and the PAG Chairs select parent representatives from applications submitted each spring. If you are interested in becoming a part of the PAG, please contact Mr. Clossick or a PAG board member. State of the School - PAG Meeting
The St. Simon State of the School PAG Meeting will take place at 7pm on Wednesday, May 13 in the church. We will go over the school five year plan at this time. Cheese and wine social will immediately follow the presentation. Everyone is invited to attend.
8th Grade Sacrament of Confirmation Holiday
The eighth grade will have a school holiday on Monday, May 11th.
2nd Grade First Communion Holiday
The 2nd grade will have a school holiday on Monday, May 4th.
