Welcome to the physical education website! Here you will find
updates on what we are doing at each level and homework assignments for
the middle school students.
General overview of lessons:
Each
class will have three components: fitness, skill development, and
Olympic flame. It is my goal to have students enjoy being active and
recognize the life long value of being physically fit. Each grade level
will focus on mastering developmentally appropriate skills as outlined
in the state standards. The Olympic flame represents the internal
desire to be the best we can be. In class we will focus on individual
improvement, being encouraging, and looking after each other.
In
the 6th-8th grades we have established the High Five Contract and
sealed our pledge with our thumbprints. We have pledged to be
encouraging; to not blame others but rather take responsibility for
ourselves; to keep all the negative behaviors in check; to being
committed to our class; and to looking out for the "little guy", the
person in need. The posters depicting our pledge are up on the windows
of the athletic office. The kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders, and I
have a simplified 3 pronged set of class expectations.
