The children had a wonderful first extended day. They all did extremely well and no one complained about being tired.
This is what we did today:
- Discussed that some good things, like prayer, can happen in silence
- Learned about St. Francis of Assisi
- Wrote a three-sentence morning message together
- Were introduced to some of the October high frequency words (a, the, an, can , see)
- Worked with the hard sound of g
- Made patterns using shapes
- Began a new unit in Social Studies: Stories of our Past
- Painted witches and made ghosts
- Learned about our Star of the Week
- Started learning a Halloween song, Hagdalena Magdalena
- Read The Witch Next Door by Norman Bridwell
- Had free activity time
