St. Simon first grade students host shoe drive for My New Red Shoes April 14 - 24

From Tuesday, April 14 to Friday, April 24th Mrs. Aguilar's first grade class will be hosting a shoe drive for My New Red Shoes.  My New Red Shoes, located in Redwood City, helps homeless and low-income children look and feel confident as they start the school year by providing them with new clothing and shoes.   Since 2006, My New Red Shoes has provided over 27,000 homeless and low-income children with brand new clothing and shoes so they can arrive at school proud and ready to learn.

During the shoe drive, school families are encouraged to donate new sneakers (no sandals, flip flops, or dress shoes) between sizes toddler/little kid size 9 to women's size 13 and men's size 18.  Colors and patterns are fine but please do not purchase primarily blue or red shoes.  To view an Amazon Wish List with specific shoes chosen by My New Red Shoes click here.  Donations are also gladly accepted, and checks (made payable to My New Red Shoes) can be dropped off at the front school desk any time before Friday, April 24th.
